About Embroidery

Our branding team run embroidery machines for 16 hours a day to ensure that your job gets out as soon as possible.

Our digitizing department is where our quality story starts. If the embroidery program is not right, the 999 that you are going to produce has no hope of being right either. We will sew you out a sample and either send it or email it to you so you can see exactly what it will look like.

Our machines are industry leading Barudans and in our experience these machines produce the best embroidery. Crisp small lettering, sharp outlines and each embroidery will look like the same. Even our sample machine is the same ensuring that what we sample, we can reproduce over the course of the run.

Most of our staff have been with us since we started and this shows in the consistency of the product that they produce. They are always ready to go the extra mile to ensure your job is as good as it can be.

About Screen Printing

We have a slightly different attitude to screenprinting at NZU, we realize that it is a complex process that has many parts. Only when you control all of these parts can you master the process. For example, our screens are made in a dust free temperature controlled room. Only by doing this can we ensure that every screen is the same and will print perfectly once it gets to the press.

Our state of the art facility has also been designed with the environment in mind as well. All parts of the screen reclaim process we use eco friendly chemicals and where possible, these are recycled and do not go near the drain

Over the last 5 years we have invested heavily in state of the art machinery for the screenprinting department. Our dryer for example was the first of its kind in the country and has a temperature consistency of +/- 1.5 degrees throughout. This means that our prints are cured and will last the life of the garment.

About Digital Transfers

Screenprinting is a great process for Tee shirts and the like, but what about nylon stuff that screen printers either say no to or struggle to print in register? We bought a digital heat transfer machine specifically for this process. A digital transfer machine prints your logo onto a vinyl or pvc that can be then applied on to your garment using heat. A little like an iron on transfer that you used to get your mother to do!

Our branding unit has since expanded this side of the business and we can manufacture screen printed transfers which give a very high quality finish and a very nice thin print. With this process you print the image on to paper using a screen, and then you heat apply it to the garment. All the colours go on at once, so you have none of the registration issues you normally have when direct printing difficult garments.

This department also can handle all the team names and numbers for sports uniforms. We can cut any number in any style and any colour, giving you the maximum impact Teamwear.

About Sublimation

Sublimation is a process by which sublimation dyes are printed onto a transfer medium with a specially prepared inkjet printer. Those dyes are then transferred from the medium to an object or garment under the heat and pressure delivered by a commercial heat press.

Sublimation only works on garments made of polyester, or on specialty objects made of polyester or given a polyester coating. When the heat and pressure are applied, the dye on the transfer medium sublimates, or becomes a gas, and is then absorbed into the polyester itself.

Although we have the most extensive product range in New Zealand, there will be times where you will need something different, something special, something very specific. Look no further, as we provide a specialist service which gives you access to factories around the globe who can custom make uniforms in small runs giving you something very unique.

We can custom make almost anything that you dream of. It can be a sports team kit through to a corporate uniform. We even have the fancy software that shows you pictures of what you would like before we start the process of manufacturing.
